Ohai there
Despite being quite sure of the fact that I will fail on keeping activity, I am going to try blogging again. So, the chance I will lack of material - stuff to write about - is quite massive, it might just be the boring old kinda usual stuff of annoying people I meet a little here and there.
Stay tuned for a post within the next week, or something like that. I’ll be posting some money-making stuff too, this time making some real money… still in the progress though.

In these days it might be hard knowing which sites are worth being a member of. The following lists some of the sites I find useful… well.. not useful. Depending on how you see it.
Site 1: last.fm
Last.fm stores the songs you listen to (with their music-software), and uploads it to your userpage, where it also keeps track of your favorite artists, tracks, and your last played songs. Might not be so useful, but statistics rock. Leave me a shout if you sign up! My userpage: http://www.last.fm/user/FelleSwe.
Site 2: WhatPulse
WhatPulse is all about statistics - it keeps track of how many keystrokes you have, clicks and how far you’ve moved your mouse. It does not work as a keylogger– it’s only sending those 3 statistic values. Sign up, download their software and it should all be pretty self-explanatory. Of course you can leave a comment here if you experience any problems. My userpage: http://whatpulse.org/stats/users/238379/.
Site 3: TypeRacer
This is a game that really got me addicted. It works like a race, where you type a paragraph from a movie, song or book as fast as you can (without spelling errors), and see your final speed at the end (measured in words per minute). If you register (instead of playing as ‘Guest’), you keep your stats and can see how you improve overtime. From what I know, there are no actual userpages, but if you hold your mouse over a nickname, it will show that user’s stats.
My stats at the time of writing:
One of my best races so far, went up to #6 on the highscore of the last hour (click for bigger image):
And, site number 4 is… felle.org!
Whether you know or not, this blog does have a registration system. Please do register; keeping track of your username, mail and so on will be so much easier (if I, for example, would need to contact you). Besides, I reckon you wouldn’t have to fill in your email, site and name everytime you comment on one of the entries here.
To register, visit: http://felle.org/wp-login.php?action=register. There may be a possibility you can get a cookie for the trouble.

You walk towards the back in the average-filled train looking for a seat. Find one, sit down and place yourself in the position of being judged; judged straight through by the 15 other people sitting nearby. Whether they approve or disapprove of your presence, they’ll let you know. In case of disapproval they will show you this by making uncomfortable movements, doing certain facial expressions and glancing at you. In case of approval they’ll just leave you be, and you may consider yourself accepted into the group of judges, into the group of people waiting eagerly for someone to get off and a newcomer to sit down. A new one to judge straight through.
To be honest though, they can disapprove you all they like– chances are it won’t make you move. It’s more of the social bit of being accepted for whoever you are.
Take for certain that smelling of alcohol, wearing offensive/unusual/no clothes and/or appearing to be drugged/under the influence of alcoholic beverages (or even mentally unstable), will most likely lead to immediate disapproval. Sorry mate, but those are the rules.
My last hours of freedom..
Title basically says it all. No, I’m not getting married or anything like that. The freedom I speak of in this case is holidays, seeing as school starts again tomorrow. It’s quite amazing how fast a holiday of 10 weeks can go by, especially compared to any normal 10-week period when you actually have school. As they say, time flies by when you “have fun”.
Maybe it’s not the end of the world, it’s just school, same old boring, long and slow school as it’s always been. I will still have time to be at the computer, hang out with friends and so on, although most likely less than what I could last term, since there will be grades to focus on this year.
On a different subject I have just started coding an IRC bot (based on pircbot) using the Java programming language. Why Java, you may wonder, I admit it could appear as an odd pick - but I just didn’t want to go for PHP like everyone else. It’s a bit of a challenge too, only wish I would have started it earlier when I had loads of time to work on it..
2 commentsGeekstuff has arrived
I’ve been too lazy to actually post something about it, but would like to tell you anyway that the stuff I ordered from thinkgeek arrived as planned this Thursday.
I’ve also counted out that my total expenses on shipping and customs are nearly 200% of what the actual products costs. I’ve basically spent a total of 110 euro on stuff that cost roughly a third of that amount. I wish I hadn’t ordered it, but you learn from bad experiences…right!?
Images of the items can be found here: http://felle.org/images/thinkgeek/
No commentsEpic failure
I could be writing this while wearing my brand new Thinkgeek t-shirt, but so is unfortunately not the case. After a fast shipment from the States all the way to Sweden, through Germany, the package was due to be delivered today.
It did not end up that way though. We have two doorbells (don’t know why), and one of them is broke. I’ve been home all day listening after the doorbell ringing, but never heard any. Then visited UPS’ tracking system to look for eventual updates… and saw the message that I failed to sign on first delivery attempt. I went to check, and had gotten a note from UPS about a failing delivery attempt. The only possible solution must be that they rang the wrong doorbell and left…
I’ll be getting my stuff tomorrow according to the UPS worker I spoke with on the phone..and hopefully they’ll ring the right bell this time since I’ve put a note over the doorbell that doesn’t work. You never know though..

Shopping spree!
Long story short, I ordered some relatively cool stuff from thinkgeek.com this Friday. With the choice of shipping being either using DHL or UPS (both taking 2-5 days to deliver after thinkgeek ships it), I chose the latter. So hopefully later on this week or in the beginning of next, I’ll have a UPS truck coming by delivering my geek-stuff.
The things I ordered were a t-shirt (http://www.thinkgeek.com/tshirts/popculture/78c6/), a binary clock (http://www.thinkgeek.com/homeoffice/lights/59e0/), some tiny R/C car for the amusement of driving around on my desk (http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/rc/a427/) and last, but not least — some caffeinated candy (http://www.thinkgeek.com/caffeine/candy/9aab/). Yummy!
All the actual products cost merely $73 USD together, plus shipping costs (merely $47), making the final price just below $120 USD.
While being around $55 in a swedish shop, the binary clock cost only $28 on thinkgeek. The t-shirt and the candy are probably not for sale in Sweden, but any general t-shirt would cost quite a lot more than what they cost at thinkgeek. Hard to tell what the candy would’ve costed here, but like everything else it would probably be more expensive.
My order is currently in “processing” state but I’ll keep you updated in case anything interesting happens (which most likely means whenever they deliver it).

If you are one of those people who actually know me from IRC, you should know by now that my neighbours nextdoor are a bunch of idiots who love to combine late nights with loud rap music. Regardless of whether you know me from IRC, you may have read a previous entry on this blog (Louder than usual) which I posted early on a Saturday morning a rough month ago.
To get to the point, I have never before been able to really challenge them when it comes to loud music. My laptop’s volume can’t go as high as I would have wanted it to, and although I have a stereo, I rarely use it since I don’t have the music I like on CD. What music I like changes quite frequently too, having a huge music library is ten times smarter than burning CDs every now and then to play on the stereo.
The solution to this problem is of course connecting the computer to the stereo. I can’t blame myself enough for not thinking about this earlier, but as they say here, “better late than never”.
Connecting the computer and the stereo is done by using a simple cable with 3 ends. One 3,5mm plug to go in the computer and two RCA ends to go into the stereo. Turn on the stereo, put on some music on the computer, click on the AUX button and you’re ready to go!
The result is quite impressive too, increasing the volume to be heard loud and clear by my neighbours isn’t going to be a problem, and I also get a use for the stereo which has been collecting dust for a while now. All this for the price of a 5-euro cable (the cheaper one was out of stock, but I don’t mind paying 2 euro extra for some better quality plugs)!
In other words, the next time I hear rap through the wall, I have a weapon to actually fight back with.
3 commentsTravel kits and old celebrities..
When I, in this case, write travel kit I’m not talking about some kind of survival kit for travellers, but a “travel kit” for computers. I was in the mall today which is when I bought it…
But first, I would like to present an old celebrity from this blog, starring mainly in the post Weird People I made back in November last year. May I present to you… the shemale. Yes, that’s right people, the shemale is back. For the sake of simplicity, the shemale will be referred to as a woman in this post.
I was sitting far back on the bus (same bus as last time), looking forward towards the middle… and that’s when I saw her. There was never any doubt it - it was the shemale. Same body, same creepy face…. and oh yes, the same beyond-creepy moustache. I can also confirm her smell hadn’t improved any, rather possibly turned worse. This I discovered after walking behind her (few meters distance, of course) outside the busstop where we both went off.
Now back to the travel kit, which I bought for about a third of the real price. The original price was ~38 euro, then there was a discount of around 20 euro, with the price being ~18 euro.. plus an extra 30% discount, making the price eventually end up at merely 13 euro. Good stuff.

All parts: http://felle.org/images/travelkit/Bild065.jpg
And to the different parts:

HUB: http://felle.org/images/travelkit/Bild067.jpg
Flashlight: http://felle.org/images/travelkit/Bild068.jpg
Numpad: http://felle.org/images/travelkit/Bild069.jpg, http://felle.org/images/travelkit/Bild070.jpg
Card reader: http://felle.org/images/travelkit/Bild071.jpg
Additional to this are a few cables that aren’t really worth taking images of (you can always see them in the “all parts” images though).
No commentsBefore I mess it up..
Yeah, thought I’d take some pictures of my “new”, or redone, room before I take all the old stuff back into it and before I start messing it up. Those two are by the way somewhat connected..
So I went to IKEA last Thursday to get a new desk, wardrobe and some other stuff. Everything you’ll see in the pictures later on are, if not from this Thursday’s visit, from another visit to IKEA. You just don’t go anywhere but to IKEA when it comes to furniture here in Sweden. If you do, that’s equal to letting your country down. Kind of.
To get to the point, you can find the images here: http://felle.org/images/newroom/
The reason I always upload the images to a directory and let you view them from there is that it makes it much easier for me, as I’d have to resize the images majorly to make them fit on this page. You wouldn’t see the images that good and there’s a possibility the site would take a little longer to load with many images on the frontpage.
Oh and yeah, the colours in my room aren’t exactly what I thought they’d be– I thought the blue would be a bit darker and the gray walls to be a little less gray. I’m happy with it anyway, the room as it is at the moment is 10 times better than before. I really needed this new desk, which is quite awesome for the record, the old one was green… and my dad used to have it when he was my age. Ouch.
